1. Who We Are
Oratio ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Oratio, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

2. Information We Collect
2a. Information You Provide
- Email address — via email/password or Google Sign-In.
- Display name — via Apple Sign In or Google Sign In.
- Profile and personalization details — may include your display name, age range, sex, denomination, faith stage, and prayer motivation if you provide them.
- Emotional state selections — how you feel before prayer (e.g., "Anxious," "Grateful"). This is religiously sensitive information.
- Free-text prayer and chat content — when you write your own prayer, describe what is on your heart, name a burden, or send messages to Emmanuel.
- Prayer completion confirmations — that a prayer was completed, not its content.
2b. Information We Generate or Infer
- AI-generated prayers, Bible verses, and Emmanuel responses — generated from your emotional state, free-text input, and limited profile context when available.
- Prayer streak and daily prayer counts — used to power core app features and limits.
2c. Stored Only on Your Device
- Blocked app selection — stored locally via iOS App Groups. Never transmitted to our servers.
2d. We Do NOT Collect
- Location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone
- Browsing history or app usage outside Oratio
- Advertising identifiers (no ads)
3. Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google) — stores account info, prayer history, streaks, selected profile information, and Emmanuel conversation history. Privacy Policy
Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes the minimum data needed to generate prayers and Emmanuel responses. Depending on the feature, this may include your emotional state, free-text input, named burdens, and limited profile context if you provided it in the app. We do not intentionally send your email address to Anthropic, but if you type identifying information into a prayer or chat message, that text may be included because it is part of what you submitted. 4. Data Retention

5. Your Rights
Delete account: In the app, go to Profile › Account › Delete Account. You can also email support@joinoratio.com if you cannot access the app. Account deletion removes your email, prayer history, streaks, saved profile information, and stored Emmanuel conversation history from our servers.
Access your data: Email us to request a copy.
Opt out of AI prayers: Use "Write my own prayer" for a non-AI prayer flow. If you use Emmanuel or ask Oratio to generate a prayer from free text, that text is sent to Anthropic to generate the response.
Revoke Screen Time: Settings › Screen Time on your iPhone, or uninstall the app.
6. Children's Privacy
Oratio is for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Contact support@joinoratio.com if you believe a child has provided data.
7. Canadian Users (PIPEDA)
Subject to Canada's PIPEDA. You may access, correct, or withdraw consent for your data. File complaints at priv.gc.ca.
California Residents (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. Contact us to exercise your rights.
